The UGA College of Veterinary Medicine
  • The first class of 44 students graduated in 1950.
  • The College employs 163 faculty members and 375 staff members.

  • Our total budget is approximately $70.5 million dollars, with 39% of that total appropriated or sponsored by the state of Georgia.
  • The remainder comes from income from services (25%), federal and other sponsors (26%), the Southern Regional Education Board (6%), gifts (1%), and other subsidies (3%).

About the Hospital

  • We have an in-house caseload of over 19,828 cases per year, while our field services team goes on approximately 1,934 calls and sees approximately 725,055 animals per year.
