The student body and faculty of the College of Veterinary Medicine, their friends and family, members of the Athens community, and many members of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association from around the state attend the SCAVMA auction, which is typically held in January or February. Items for the auction comprise of donations from within the college, from various veterinary food and drug corporations, and from businesses in the Athens community.
