Do you want a tour of our College?
Tours of the College of Veterinary Medicine building for prospective students are held once a month throughout the year. Please complete the following form at least one week in advance to request a tour:
PLEASE NOTE: Your tour appointment is not scheduled/confirmed until you receive an email confirmation from the Office for Academic Affairs. This is important, as the CVM is a secure-access facility, therefore self-guided tours are not allowed and we are unable to accommodate walk-in requests. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled tour we will have to reschedule, as we have limited number of people available to provide tours. Please plan your arrival time accordingly.
Other Tour Requests:
Tours of our Veterinary Teaching Hospital are available to members of the general public during the College’s annual open house, which typically takes place in late March or early April. Please visit the Open House website for more information.
Elementary, Middle or High School Freshmen/Sophomore students:
The College's Annual Open House is held annually in late March or early April. Please visit the Open House website for more information. This is a great opportunity for individuals not yet ready to apply to veterinary college to visit the facilities, tour our new hospital (16 years or older), and view live demonstrations. Open House is fun for all ages and free to attend – no reservations required!
The College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital is an active, working hospital and our patients are our top priority. Like patients in a human hospital, our patients are here because they need medical attention. Because of this the tour is not a hands-on experience. We are happy to provide tours for prospective students i.e. high school juniors and seniors; undergraduate, and post-graduate. Tours are not available for high school sophomore-age students or younger. We recommend those students visit the college during our annual Open House to get an idea about what veterinarians do.
High school sophomore-age or younger are encouraged to visit the following:
Due to biosecurity, liability, patient confidentiality, and operational issues associated with operating a full service hospital the following limitations are imperative and enforced at all times:
- Group size is limited per tour
- No photos or video are allowed to be taken in the hospital
- Visitors must be accompanied by a tour guide at all times while in the hospital
- Visitors are not allowed to touch the patients under any circumstances
- Shouting, running, yelling, and disorderly conduct are prohibited
We reserve the right to exclude someone from a tour at any time.
If you cannot attend your scheduled tour please email us as soon as possible (preferably 24 hours in advance) to reschedule.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled tour we will have to reschedule as we have limited number of people available to provide tours. Please plan your arrival time accordingly.
