The BioPRYN kit measures Pregnancy Specific Protein B (PSPB) produced only by the placenta of a living fetus.

Species and Earliest Detection

Beef and Dairy Cattle

>28 days post breeding by artificial insemination (AI) or last exposure to the bull

>73 days post calving or greater (45 days post calving +28 days post breeding)

Note: Heifers can be tested as early as 25 days post breeding

Embryo Transfer Recipient Cow

>28 days of embryo age (e.g. 21 days after transfer of a 7-day old embryo)

Sheep and Goats

>30 days post breeding

Bison

>40 days post breeding

Sample Requirements: 2 ml of whole blood or plasma; or 1 ml of serum per animal

Shipment: PSPB protein is very stable in blood and refrigeration is not required during shipping. If
shipping >24 hours after drawing blood, store tubes in refrigerator.
