Virology & Serology services in Tifton
In virology / serology, we test specimens for evidence of viral, bacterial and protozoal infections in pigs, cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats, as well as select testing for viral/bacterial evidence of infection in wildlife, ruminants, and marine mammals.
Two main groups of tests are offered:
- Tests that determine the presence of infectious disease agents or its components (antigens and toxins) including virus isolation (VI), fluorescent antibody (FA) assay and antigen-ELISA.
- Tests that provide evidence of agents’ exposure such as antibody ELISA, serum virus neutralization (SN) assay and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) assay.
