SUMMARY:Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle
DESCRIPTION:The Applied Reproductive Strategies for Beef Cattle (ARSBC) meeting is coming to Georgia\nThe ARSBC is considered the premier national event in beef cattle reproduction. The meeting is organized by the Beef Reproduction Task Force and has a long history of providing the latest information on the application of reproductive technologies and includes a range of topics related to cattle reproduction. \nARSBC 2024 – Program Schedule – see the schedule of planned speakers/presentations \nEarly Bird Registration ($200) ends June 15\, 2024. Discounted registration ($150) for students and county agents until July 15\, 2024. Regular registration ($250) until August 20\, 2024. Late registration ($300) after August 20\, 2024. \nSelect the Register Now button below for event registration and hotel information. Hotel blocks are offered at Hyatt Place and Homewood Suites. \nThere is a Beef Reproduction Lab add-on option. This is selected during the registration. The lab begins at 1:30 on Thursday. DESCRIPTION:This event is part of the department’s seminar series for graduate students. \nDr. Xiaorong Lin is the Gene E. Michaels Distinguished Professor in Medical Mycology and Graduate Coordinator for the University of Georgia’s Department of Microbiology in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and has a courtesy faculty appointment in the Department of Infectious Diseases also at UGA. She earned her PhD in Fungal Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia in 2003. Dr. Lin’s research focuses on better understanding eukaryotic microbiology through investigating Cryptococcus neoformans and Aspergillus fumigatus.

DESCRIPTION:This event is part of the department’s seminar series for graduate students. \n“Molecular Diagnostics in Avian Medicine: Past and Future” \nDr. David Suarez is a Research Leader at the US Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Research Services\, Exotic and Emerging Avian Disease Research Unit. He earned his PhD in Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology in 1995 from Iowa State University of Science and Technology\, and he earned his DVM in 1988 from Auburn University. Dr. Suarez’s research focuses on next generation diagnostic tools and studying avian influenza and other avian diseases.

DESCRIPTION:“Evaluation of Next Generation Respiratory Vaccines” \nThis event is part of the department’s seminar series for graduate students. \nDr. Nadine Rouphael is the Executive Director of the Hope Clinic at the Emory Center for AIDS Research and is the Sumner E. Thompson III Distinguished Professor of Vaccinology and Infectious Diseases in the Infectious Diseases Division of the Department of Medicine at Emory University. She earned her MD from Saint Joseph University School of Medicine in Lebanon in 2001 and completed her internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at Emory University. Dr. Rouphael’s research focuses on antimicrobial resistance\, vaccine delivery methods\, and innate immunity. She is serves at the PI for two NIH-funded programs: Vaccine Treatment and Evaluation Unit and Human Immunology Project Consortium.
