Educational Background

  • DVM (1997), North Carolina State University
  • MS (2002), Purdue University
  • PhD (2008), Cornell University

Research Interests

My research interests include the potential development of macrocylic lactone resistance to Dirofilaria immitis, canine heartworm. Also, we are researching the initial events in the establishment of the parasite/host niche by filarial worms, specifically Brugia malayi, one of the causative agents of lymphatic filariasis.

Currently, I am the director of the Filariasis Research Reagent Resource Center (FR3). This NIH-funded resource provides filarial reagents to researchers across North America. Click here for more information.
