We are seeking a veterinarian to join our team either as a fulltime or part-time associate to work two to four days a week and one Saturday a month (from 8am-12pm). Base salary and production bonuses will be commensurate with experience and your desired schedule. Additional benefits will depend on your employment status but may include health insurance, a substantial continuing education allowance, local/state/national dues and licensure, and paid time off.
Chapin Veterinary Care Center is a modern facility with a beautiful and spacious building that was constructed in 2011. The practice was established by Dr. Laabs in 1997 and has built a loyal client base that is always growing due to our reputation for providing a high standard of care with compassion for our patients.
Our clinic stays up to date with high quality diagnostic equipment that includes: fully digital x-ray, dental x-ray, therapeutic laser, ultrasound, newly updated surgical monitoring equipment. Our in-house diagnostic equipment allows us to have a full range of options for our patients and is comprised of Idexx Vetlab which includes three chemistry analyzers, snap-pros, Sedivue, and the Fecal Imagyst analyzer from Zoetis. Using Cornerstone as our practice management software allows it to sync with our laboratories analyzers and the outside Idexx lab, which allows you to review results in a timely and convenient manner. Cornerstone also has allowed us to go almost fully paperless!
Our team includes several full-time and part-time dvms, along with well-trained and highly utilized technical support staff who are all ready to welcome you into a supportive and collaborative work environment. A healthy work-life balance is encouraged and achievable thanks to reasonable working hours and a manageable but fulfilling caseload and schedule, as we do not accept after-hours emergencies. We are fortunate to have two twenty-four-hour emergency and specialty centers nearby along with three different urgent care clinics available for referral. Our full-time doctors work four 10-hour days a week with appointments scheduled every 30 minutes in the morning and afternoon, and two hours blocked off for lunch at noon. Each vet is assigned one day a week for surgeries if they choose to do them. We also are no longer a boarding facility, which has allowed us to focus solely on providing the best medical care for our patients. Our clinic is considered to be very family friendly and many of our staff members have children and families who thrive in the Chapin community.
Chapin is a beautiful Southern town that has retained its small-town charm even as it is growing tremendously due to its well-earned popularity as a wonderful place to live! With award winning schools, a beautiful lake and several parks and recreation centers, it’s easy to see the appeal for families and people of all ages. The nearby capital city of Columbia offers many opportunities for shopping, dining, and entertainment with the University of South Carolina nestled in the middle of it all, as well as Riverbanks Zoo and several National Parks in the area to explore. Due to our central location in the middle of the state, we are only an hour or two from the beautiful South Carolina beaches and the Smoky Mountains when you need a vacation or weekend away!
