Senior Veterinary Anatomic Pathology Residency Position UGA, Veterinary Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratory, Tifton GA
The Tifton Veterinary Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratory (TVDIL), College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, Tifton, Georgia, is seeking applicants for a 14-month post-DVM non-degree senior residency position in veterinary anatomic pathology. The start date for this position is July 1st, 2019. The TVDIL is a full service, AAVLD accredited, NAHLN level 2 laboratory with histopathology, clinical pathology, necropsy, virology/serology, microbiology, and molecular biology sections. This position is ideal for candidates seeking additional pathology training in a diagnostic laboratory setting in a rural area. Candidates will receive training in pathology under supervision of 3 board certified pathologists. Successful completion of this program will prepare the student for certifying examination by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. The starting salary is $42,000 per year plus travel support to regional and/or national meetings, including pathology training courses. Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree, must be United States citizens or be eligible for lawful admission to the United States, and must provide evidence of academic strength and interest in anatomic pathology. Minimal requirements for the applicants include: 2-3 years of formal anatomic pathology residency training and have completed phase I of ACVP board certification. The position is open until filled.
