My name is Alicer (pronounced Ah-lis-ser) and I was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Antigua. I am in pursuit of opportunities to explore my interests in public health and infectious diseases through research and graduate education in related areas. I am passionate about learning foreign languages and being a mentor to students from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM.

Research Interests

  • Characterizing the synergistic relationships between inflammation, coagulation, and oxidative stress responses in a murine model of placental malaria
  • Developing a novel murine model for malaria infection during early gestation
  • Investigating the impact of malaria infection during late gestation on pregnancy success
