Alona Botnar completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia in 2015. During her studies, she completed a six month co-op at Janssen Biotech, a Pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson, where she worked with the multi-specific biologics engineering group on the Duobody Antibody technology. She also studied as an undergraduate researcher in the Walter Schmidt lab and worked on understanding CaaX protease function in conjunction with the yeast system. In 2016, Ms. Botnar was accepted into the doctoral program in the Department of Infectious Diseases and joined the laboratory of Dr. Dennis Kyle.
