Biography

Jenny Nicholds is a clinical associate professor of avian medicine in the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. Her interests include poultry parasites and metabolic disease. Before coming to Athens, Nicholds worked as the Poultry Extension Veterinarian at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. She has won the American Association of Avian Pathologist’s award for best field case/diagnostic report 2 years in a row, 2017 and 2018. Nicholds earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, and her Master’s of Avian Medicine at UGA. She earned her bachelor’s in agriculture from the University of Alberta, Canada. Nicholds was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She and her husband enjoy restoring vintage airstream travel trailers, and she is a former triathlete in the process of picking up the sport again.
