Activities

I have a service (60%) and teaching (40%) appointment and do collaborative research. As a clinician at the PDRC I am primarily responsible for teaching clinical medicine in the Masters in Avian Medicine program and problem solving in the State of Georgia’s enormous poultry industry.

I have a particular interest in managing the health of the digestive tract to maximize bird welfare, nutrient assimilation and performance and have been invited to provide expert opinion, write, and present, several review papers, and problem solve on the subject, in over 20 countries.

I am the editor of the PDRC’s bimonthly publication “The Poultry Informed Professional,” a reviewer for several journals and serve on several committees including the ACPV’s Exam Committee.
