The Isakson Center for Neurological Disease Research is a state-of-the-art facility made up of an innovative, interdisciplinary network of renowned researchers that are leading the front for deciphering underlying mechanisms, developing early diagnostic biomarkers, and novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and other neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s Disease related dementia.

Isakson Initiative gives $1.4M to UGA Vet Med

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents on Nov. 14 approved the creation of two endowed distinguished professorships, made possible by a gift of $1.4 million from the Isakson Initiative to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Mark Richt raises funds for Parkinson’s research

Led by former University of Georgia head football coach Mark Richt, the Chick-fil-A Dawg Bowl raised more than $758,000 for Parkinson’s disease and Crohn’s disease research at UGA.
