The CVI houses instrumentation that facilitates the study of the immune system and vaccines. 

FLOW CYTOMETER

The CVI provides cytometry services to investigators for cell sorting. Our instrument is located in room 1559 of the CVI at 119 Carlton St.

FACSAria Fusion 

Equipped with 4 lasers (Violet, Blue, Yellow, and Red) and exclusively operated by our BD FACSAria Fusion Operator.

  • Up to 13 colors sorting for immunophenotyping
  • Sorting and analysis of CFP, GFP, YFP, mRFP, mTomato, CFP and mCherry gene expression proteins
  • DNA analysis using standard dyes (Hoeschst, DAPI, PI, 7-AAD, etc.)
  • Cells can be sorted into 15ml falcon, 5ml FACS tubes and Eppendorf, or single cell sorting into 6, 24, 48, 96, or 384-well plates for culture and slides
  • Biohazardous cell sorting for BSL2 samples is feasible
