Improving your pet's overall quality of life

Our small animal sports medicine and rehabilitation service is dedicated to improving quality of life by addressing mobility limitations, strength deficits, fitness, and whole-body wellness. We provide comprehensive sports medicine–based functional evaluations to help identify the underlying contributors to mobility and performance issues and to guide individualized treatment and rehabilitation planning.

What to expect:

All patients must be referred by a veterinarian to ensure they are medically appropriate for sports medicine and rehabilitation services. Once a referral is received, clients may schedule an appointment.

During this visit, the pet’s medical history is reviewed and a detailed functional and mobility assessment is performed. This evaluation may include assessment of range of motion, gait, balance, strength, muscle mass, symmetry, and overall movement quality. These findings help identify functional deficits contributing to mobility or performance concerns and establish objective baseline measurements.

If indicated, advanced diagnostic testing may be recommended or performed to further evaluate the source of a pet’s mobility condition and support diagnostic decision-making. Findings from the evaluation and any diagnostics are used to guide treatment recommendations.

Based on the evaluation findings and the client’s goals, a personalized treatment and rehabilitation plan is developed. This plan may include in-clinic therapies as well as structured at-home exercises. Once the plan is established, treatment can begin.
