Life is short. Don’t waste it working in a toxic clinic where you aren’t appreciated! Come join us in the Splash Zone! Dutton Veterinary Services is located in rural, central New York. This is a mixed animal position, and on-call duty for large animal (no small animal emergency) is required. However, you will always have backup and will not be scheduled until you are ready to go! Schedule is flexible but generally 8am to 5 pm and rarely having late days. No weekend appointments.
A DVM with ability to be licensed in New York State is required. New graduates are encouraged to apply! A structured mentoring system is in place to encourage confidence and growth as a new veterinarian by working through cases together while also encouraging independent research and case plan development.
Equipment includes a Pegasus Laser, several ultrasounds, portable digital xray, Abaxis blood machines including the Imagyst, full anesthesia monitoring equipment EKG, capnograph, blood pressure, BEMER horse blanket set and more. The associate will be provided a vehicle, portavet unit, ultrasound all equipment necessary to take to large animal calls.
Opportunities abound for spousal employment including several hospital networks Bassett and UHS with multiple locations, multiple universities (SUNY system (Oneonta, Delhi, Binghamton), Hartwick, Binghamton U), large employers such as Kraft, Friesland Campina, Saputo, Amphenol with jobs for scientists, office work, engineers, mechanics and more.
Work in a rural area but still have all the amenities that several large cities can offer including culture experiences, theaters, cuisine and shopping. Located in between Binghamton, Syracuse, Albany and near enough to New York City for weekend plans. Outdoor activities are endless, including skiing, snowmobiling, world renowned fishing, horseback riding and more.
Practice area includes 2 to 3 USDA recognized veterinary shortage areas which makes an associate eligible for the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP) should they choose to apply. Owner is a current VMLRP recipient.
