Our Family Vet is seeking to host externs as well as student positions for summer and school breaks. On-site accommodations are available, as well as compensation for the duration of the time period. Externship positions have the potential to turn into full time employment upon graduation.
Our Family Vet is a multi-practice hospital group nestled in the idyllic piney woods of East Texas, just south of Tyler. Our mission is to help families experience the power of the human/animal bond by providing clinical, surgical and wellness services that will help pets grow healthy and live enjoyable lives with their human counterparts. Serving our communities for over 20 years, Our Family Vet has built an environment to transition from academic training to clinical application. As a mixed animal practice (dogs, cats, horses, cattle, show pigs, goats and lambs) there is abundant opportunity to learn from a talented surgeon with a varied and interesting case load.
Tyler and its surrounding communities are abundant with a multitude of recreational activities for all interests. Outdoor activities include Lake Tyler, Lake Palestine, Tyler Rose Garden and Tyler State Park. Tyler is home to many museums, restaurants, shopping and recently received the 2024 Texas Music Friendly Designation from the Governor’s Office. The Red Dirt BBQ and Music Festival is held annually and boasts an impressive lineup of musicians and bar-b-que. With 28 city parks and an excellent school district, Tyler is perfect for building a community around oneself and family. Kiepersol is a well renowned destination that offers a bed and breakfast, restaurant, and tours of the winery and distillery.
