Dear Colleague,

South Forsyth Animal Hospital is seeking a fourth General Practitioner and we would like to invite you to consider a position with us! We are a privately owned, full-service, AHAA-accredited hospital in North Georgia near Atlanta. Our goal is to provide the highest quality patient care and client service. Our team is composed of a remarkably talented group of seasoned technicians, and three registered technicians who function as a close-knit, cohesive unit. We work hand in hand with other specialists in our area and provide a supportive environment. We are a professional family who takes care of each other when shifts are stressful and we work to support a good work-life balance.

Our services include wellness, preventative care, sick patient evaluation, hospitalization, traditional and laser surgery, advanced dentistry, imaging( radiology and abdominal and cardiac ultrasound), and therapy laser treatments. We have a beautiful, state-of-the-art building with separate canine and feline waiting areas and eight exam rooms.

The hospital is equipped for surgery, dentistry, laboratory monitoring, and ICU care. In our surgery suite, we frequently perform elective surgeries such as spays, neuters, and preventative gastropexy, as well as other soft tissue surgeries including splenectomy, gastrotomy, enterotomy, resection, anastomosis, and complicated oncologic surgeries. These procedures are performed with an Aesculight cutting laser and monitored with a Surgivet monitor. All surgeries are extremely well staffed with one Registered Veterinary Technician and one additional Technician who records with an anesthetic monitoring sheet with all details recorded and recovers each patient individually. Our patients are kept warm using a Hot Dog Warming System, heated surgical tables, and fluid warmers. Our surgery unit is fully stocked with instruments, cautery, and suction. We utilize a Ligasure in splenectomies and like surgeries. We have an autoclave, as well as a Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizer, and a large, hospital-grade surgical warming unit for post-op towels and fluid therapy. Our dental suite is complete with a fabulous Canis Major Dental Station with ergonomic dental chairs, Burton Lights, and BFW Head Lamp for a comfortable, well-lit station. The station is completely equipped with an IM3 High Power Unit, IM3 Scaler, an extensive array of dental instruments, and a Shick Digital Dental System. Our in-house laboratory is fully equipped with CBC, Chemistry, T4, UA, Fructosamine, BG, IOP unit, Doppler, BP, and EKG. Our ICU area has an oxygen cage, multi-parameter monitors for cage side monitoring, multiple point-of-care testing capabilities, and a full lab with Idexx Catalyst, Sediview, and handheld Lactate, BG, and BHBA monitors. In addition, we also offer therapeutic K-Laser treatments in our patient comfort room. For imaging, our radiology area is equipped with a Sedecal Digital System, the dental station with Midmark Digital Dental Unit with Shick Sensor System, and ultrasound has a LOGIQ F6 with three probes- 6S, 8C, and L6-12 and a beautiful, hydraulic cardiac table. Not only is the hospital well-staffed and equipped, but we also focus on the well-being of the people inside the building.

To ensure a focus on a healthy work-life balance, we are open Monday through Friday 7:30 am-5:30 pm, and Saturday 7:30-noon. We are closed on Sundays, all major holidays, and do not offer boarding. Our clients are referred to a local emergency clinic for after-hours emergencies. Our staff includes three doctors, two of whom have 30+ years’ experience and an associate veterinarian with 7+ years’ experience, a practice manager, three highly skilled registered veterinary technicians with more than 10 years’ experience, five additional veterinary

technicians, two veterinary assistants, and three receptionists. Our doctors are assigned two veterinary technicians and a veterinary assistant each day and schedule two appointments per hour. In addition to taking care of our hospital family, we also try to contribute to our community.

We mentor several high school students each year in conjunction with their schools’ veterinary pathway internship program, sponsor several high school teams, host yearly donation drives to benefit local non-profits, and visit elementary schools during Career Day.

We live in a fabulous area with dozens of activities of every kind. Cumming is a beautiful suburban area within 45 minutes of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. We are close to Lake Lanier, the North Georgia mountains as well as an abundance of activities in Atlanta including the Georgia Aquarium, Braves, Hawks, and Falcon’s stadiums. We are surrounded by great restaurants and shopping.

We hope all of this is attractive to you. We are looking for a fun, fresh perspective to our service and animal care. Please contact us with your information and questions.

Sincerely,

Lisa Hillier, DVM
