Collection Protocol
Aseptically collect swabs and place them in appropriate virus transport media. Swabs can be pooled 5 swabs per tube. FLOQ, dacron or polyester swabs recommended.Alternately, collect tissues into a whirl pak bag. Freeze tissue or swabs until ready to ship. For international submissions: Swab or tissue impressions on an FTA card, allow the card to dry completely before closing, place in a ziplock bag with desiccant pouch and store at room temperature.

Non-STAT cases: 2-5 days (stat same day if sample in before noon)
Shipping Requirements
Ship samples with ample ice packs in insulated container. For FTA cards, ship samples without ice packs in envelope.
