Collection Protocol
Individually bag whole heads with sinuses intact or aseptically swab sinuses or trachea. If needed contact the lab for specific protocols NOTE: Specialty agar must be ordered and requires a 2 week notice. Please contact lab before sending samples.

Sinus swabs are plated onto specialty agar and incubated appropriately to encourage growth. Isolates are identified using bench tests.

Place heads in individual bags and ship with ample ice packs in insulated container. DO NOT FREEZE.
