Biography
Leonor Sicalo Gianechini, DVM, PhD, DACVM (Parasitology) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her research focuses on gastrointestinal parasites of livestock, with an emphasis on anthelmintic resistance, parasite population genomics, and the development of high-throughput phenotyping and diagnostic tools. Her work integrates field studies, laboratory assays, and genomic approaches to improve evidence-based parasite control strategies for ruminant production systems. Dr. Sicalo Gianechini is a board-certified veterinary parasitologist and collaborates with academic, industry, and producer partners to advance sustainable parasite management. She also contributes to veterinary education and outreach in large animal parasitology.
