Feline Medicine & Primary Care

Dr. Vetter initially graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006 with an undergraduate degree in Journalism. After working in this field for several years, her love of cats drew her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In this pursuit, she completed a postbaccalaureate in biology at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA, and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She then completed a one-year rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Bluepearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa, Florida.

Following her internship. Dr. Vetter began serving the cats of Tampa Bay while working as a general practitioner at The Cat Doctors of South Tampa. Driven by her love of teaching and research, she was able to return to the “classic city” of Athens, GA, in 2021 to join the UGA CVM faculty as a primary care clinician focused on feline care and education at UGA’s Pet Health Center.

Dr. Vetter is currently in pursuit of board certification in Feline Practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP).
