
18th Annual Shelter Medicine Symposium

The UGA CVM Shelter Medicine Club presents our 18th Annual UGA CVM Shelter Medicine Symposium, taking place on January 24th, 2026, at the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital within the Veterinary Education Center building. This one-day event will feature speakers from multiple areas of shelter medicine and is kindly sponsored by Purina and Amdec Anesthesia.
This year’s Symposium is $10 to attend (with NO CE credit), and all registrants will have breakfast and lunch provided.
If you would like to receive a certificate for 8 hours CE credit, please choose that option when registering. The cost for the CE credit is $95 (includes breakfast and lunch). Partial hours of CE credit will not be offered. Registration spots are limited, so sign up soon!
Symposium topics currently include Animal Welfare and Hoarding, the Treatment of Panleukopenia, Canine Parvovirus, and Ringworm, Running a High-Quality, High-Volume Spay and Neuter Program, Basics of Canine Heartworm Disease, Juvenile Spay and Neuters, Common Small Animal Shelter Parasites, and the Basics of Forensics, Reporting, and Testifying about Animal Abuse.
