Bovine Ultrasound Training

As part of our continued effort to promote the application of reproductive technologies, the University of Georgia Extension and College of Veterinary Medicine are collaborating with E.I. Medical Imaging to provide a training course in bovine ultrasonography.
This 2-day course, for veterinarians and veterinary students, is divided into in-class lectures and hands-on training. The in-class portion will give attendees the knowledge required to perform reproductive ultrasound evaluations in cattle, whereas the hands-on experiential learning (the majority of the course)will allow attendees to extensively practice ultrasound examinations.
Topics covered:
- Female reproductive tract evaluation
- Pregnancy detection
- Fetal aging
- Fetal sexing
- Embryo recipient selection
- Heifer pre-breeding evaluations
*previous rectal palpation experience is highly recommended
