“Enteric virus disruption of gut homeostasis”

Dr. Valerie Cortez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California Santa Cruz. She earned her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington and completed her postdoctoral work at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Cortez’s research focuses on astrovirus and mucosal immunity.
