Biography
Heather Matherly has recently been named Associate Regional Director of Development for the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Prior to this appointment, Heather served as Executive Assistant to the Athletic Director at the University of Georgia Athletic Association, where she played a critical role in managing executive operations, coordinating high-level initiatives, and supporting leadership.
Heather also brings valuable nonprofit experience, having supported and engaged with organizations such as the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and Nuçi’s Space. These experiences further reflect her commitment to service, community impact, and mission-driven work.
A longtime resident of Athens, Heather, has called the community home for more than 25 years. She and her husband, Jason, are proud parents to their son, Truitt, and their miniature poodle, Violet. She is also a certified Master Naturalist, reflecting her passion for environmental stewardship and her commitment to fostering connection through nature, and is passionate about promoting well-being through nature-based practices.
