Research Interests
Dr. Jin’s research focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, with particular emphasis on environmental neurotoxicant exposure, α-synuclein pathology, neuroinflammation, and neuronal survival signaling. His work investigates how oxidative stress, epigenetic dysregulation, protein aggregation and propagation, and disruption of cellular processes such as nucleocytoplasmic transport contribute to dopaminergic neurodegeneration, with the goal of identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
