Jennifer Sims

Dr. Jennifer (Roveto) Sims joined the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in October 2025. She primarily works with clinical veterinary students at the UGA Pet Health Center, where she teaches small animal general practice medicine and surgery, preventive care, contextualized care, and veterinary healthcare communication. She also teaches pre-clinical veterinary students, with a focus on canine and feline preventive and wellness care, contextualized (spectrum of) care, dentistry, and end-of-life care. 

Dr. Sims earned her Bachelor of Science in Avian Biology from the University of Georgia in December 2015 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2020, proudly making her a “Double Dawg.” She is currently pursuing board certification in Canine and Feline Practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). 

Outside of teaching, Dr. Sims enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Dawgs at UGA athletic events, baking sourdough for her family and students, and gardening. Her professional interests include canine and feline heartworm disease, renal disease, senior pet care, veterinary student education, and veterinary healthcare communication. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of veterinarians to provide compassionate, high-quality care while building strong relationships with clients and their pets.
