Clinical Interest
For more than two decades, Dr. Peroni has maintained an active clinical, teaching, and research program focused on equine surgery, lameness, and musculoskeletal disease. His clinical interests include orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, wound management, and the diagnosis and treatment of performance-limiting musculoskeletal disorders.
Research Interest
Dr. Peroni is internationally recognized for his contributions to regenerative medicine and orthobiologics, with particular emphasis on platelet-rich plasma, platelet lysate, mesenchymal stem cells, and biologic therapies for orthopedic disease and infection. His laboratory investigates the translational application of these therapies to improve outcomes in equine patients while advancing knowledge relevant to both veterinary and human medicine.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and invited lectures on equine surgery, regenerative medicine, antimicrobial stewardship, and orthopedic disease, and remains actively involved in clinical research designed to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and practical patient care.
