Biography
A native of North Carolina, Dr. Grogan received her undergraduate degree and DVM from North Carolina State University. Deciding poultry medicine was her focus, she completed the MAM at the University of Georgia. She held numerous veterinary positions in the poultry industry including roles in technical service, regulatory and consulting. She began a part-time role at UGA Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center (PDRC) in 2008 to develop instructional materials for the online MAHM degree program, eventually administering much of that program. The call of academia and service to the Georgia poultry industry prompted her to return full-time as a Clinical Associate Professor at PDRC in 2017. She received promotion to Clinical Professor in 2024.
Dr. Grogan is a board-certified poultry veterinarian working in clinical service through the PDRC. In her role, she provides veterinary service to poultry companies within Georgia, diagnostic service through the PDRC diagnostic lab, and teaching in the veterinary professional curriculum. She also serves as Director of Graduate Studies for the MAM and MAHM programs.

Dr. Grogan’s position is focused on service to the Georgia poultry industry and teaching, with no dedicated research commitment. She supports research for the students enrolled in the MAM program. Dr. Grogan is interested in applied research related to diseases of commercial poultry and gamebirds.
