Biography
Dr. Katie Ellis graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 and remained at UGA to complete a large animal rotating internship in 2010. She then spent approximately 4.5 years as a general equine ambulatory practitioner with Jacksonville Equine Associates, where she became certified in equine chiropractic and acupuncture.
In 2015, Dr. Ellis completed a specialty internship in equine surgery and sports medicine at the University of Florida. She then pursued a combined equine diagnostic imaging internship and equine sports medicine and rehabilitation residency at Colorado State University, completing the program in July 2020.
Dr. Ellis returned to UGA in September 2020 as an equine sports medicine and rehabilitation clinician. She became board-certified in equine sports medicine and rehabilitation in 2021 and now serves as an associate clinical instructor with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s Large Animal Field Services. Her clinical interests include equine musculoskeletal imaging and rehabilitation.
