Biography

Kwadwo Oworae gained his BSc in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology at the University of Ghana where he researched on detection and characterization of tick-borne infections in cattle. He then perused an MPhil in Molecular Cell Biology of Infectious Diseases at the University of Ghana. During that time, he researched on identifying immunogenic non-Variant Surface Glycoprotein (non-VSG) surface proteins on wild Trypanosoma vivax as therapeutic or diagnostic candidates. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Dr Karen Norris’s Lab develop novel antibody-based therapeutic strategies for Invasive Fungal infections.
