Clinical Interests

After 22 years in practice focused primarily in companion animal emergency and critical care, and general practice she is passionate about intensive internal medicine cases and emergency surgical interventions. Dr. Wheat is also committed to building strong teams with healthy work culture.

Research Interests

Her areas of interest in research are of an educational focus with interest in utilization of general practitioners and technicians in the role of instructor for veterinary medicine education, as well as how utilizing a flipped classroom model within clinical skills training encourages learning through failure and grows our professional students in multiple areas leading to more well-rounded and resilient veterinarians.
