Biography
As bacterial pathogens become increasingly resistant to antimicrobials, new interventions are needed to manage their spread in human and animal populations. My lab is focused on uncovering the mechanisms of adaptation that contribute to pathogen success. We use computational tools alongside microbial whole genome sequencing data to reconstruct pathogen transmission, understand selective pressures during infection, and guide the development and deployment of novel diagnostics, treatments, and public health measures.
