“Emergence and zoonotic potential of H9 avian influenza A viruses”

Dr. Daniel Perez is the Caswell S Eidson Chair in Poultry Medicine, a Georgia Research Alliance Distinguished Investigator, and Professor at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Population Health and Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center. Dr. Perez earned his PhD in molecular virology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His work focuses on molecular changes associated with host to host transmission of influenza viruses and his previous efforts assisted with banning live quail in Hong Kong poultry markets.
