“Natural immunity to liver-stage malaria”

Dr. Samarchith Kurup is an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia, Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Cellular Biology, Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases. He earned his PhD in cellular biology at UGA, DVM from the Kerala Agricultural University, and master’s degree in parasitology from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute. During his post-doctoral work, his research focused in on immune responses in malaria. Currently, his lab is working on understanding Plasmodium parasites in both the liver and the blood.
