Bringing the expertise of our large animal clinicians to your doorstep

In addition to our large animal hospital, the College of Veterinary Medicine also provides on-the-farm veterinary care for horses, cattle, and other farm animals*. This ranges from general veterinary care to specialized services. Our ambulatory trucks are fully stocked and ready to bring the hospital to you. Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To make an appointment call (706) 542-3223.

*Please be aware that if you are looking for swing related veterinary care, you will need to make an in-hospital appointment as we are unable to provide ambulatory services to swine owners at this time.

Emergency Services

We also offer 24/7 emergency services for current field service clients who live within a 30-mile radius of our facility. A current client is anyone who has had an on-the-farm elective appointment with us within the past 12 months. All same day urgent or emergent appointment requests will be charged additional emergency fees. All others will need to bring their farm animal(s) to our hospital for emergency assistance. Our hospital is open 24 hours a day/7 days a week. A list of local haulers is available upon request. When feasible, we will try to accommodate non-client equine emergencies during our normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 8-5). However, this may not always be possible as we are currently experiencing a high volume of emergency calls in addition to our regular appointments. We recommend that all owners have an emergency back-up plan in case we are unavailable.
