What is Vet School for a Day?
Through this program, we hope to educate students and school counselors about the many career opportunities within the field of veterinary medicine. We invite you and your students to participate in this exciting event. High school juniors and seniors from throughout Georgia and South Carolina are encouraged to attend.
The program will run from 11:30am until 4:00pm and includes a tour of the Teaching Hospital, a meeting with faculty from different areas of interest in our profession, and an informal discussion with current veterinary students. You and your student will have lunch and also listen to one of our distinguished alumni speak about his or her career.
Who May Attend
Space for this popular program is limited, only open to high school juniors and seniors from Georgia and South Carolina. Applicants must submit a completed application form, an official high school transcript, and a recommendation form from a counselor or teacher in order to be considered. We also ask that all program participants be accompanied by one adult chaperone – a parent, counselor, or teacher. Because space is limited, we must restrict the number of chaperones to ONE per student participant. Registration will be open from Aug. 7 through 5p ET on Sept. 1.
Cost to Attend
This program is offered free of charge to student participants, but there is a small fee ($15) for each chaperone (parent, counselor, and/or teacher), payable on the day of the event. Vet School for a Day is proudly sponsored by the David Forehand Foundation, based in Atlanta.
