Biography

From 2012-2017, Gabrielle worked as an integral part of both Alexion Pharmaceuticals’ research and quality teams.  During her tenure as a Research Scientist, she regularly performed conventional and real-time polymerase chain reactions (PCRs) as well as various extraction, purification, and quantitation assays in furtherance of research into rare diseases.  Upon concluding this research, she successfully transitioned into a new role in the quality department at Alexion.  As a Quality Control Microbiologist/Analyst, her responsibilities included, but were not limited to, bioburden and endotoxin testing, viral PCR, receipt and release of controlled materials, and deviation and trend report writing as well as procedural document development and revision.  Currently, she serves as a Research Professional in Dr. Norris’ lab within the Center for Vaccines and Immunology at the University of Georgia.  As such, she assists with various research projects by performing tissue cultures, immunological assays, flow cytometry, PCRs, recombinant protein purification, and other tasks as assigned.

Research Interests

Gabrielle is interested in contributing to vaccine development against prominent infectious diseases as well as the study of the corresponding immune responses following infection.  She is also generally interested in population health studies.
