Biography

Dr. Dixon is a graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed an equine medical and surgical internship. She has worked in both small and mixed animal private practice and is a certified veterinary acupuncturist. In addition, she has over a decade of experience in higher education. Dr. Dixon taught human anatomy and physiology, histology, and biomedical physiology at the undergraduate level prior to becoming faculty at a College of Veterinary Medicine. She was the course director for Comparative Veterinary Anatomy and taught in physiology and clinical skills as well before coming to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. At UGA, her primary role is in curriculum and faculty development and she teaches in the professional skills program as well.
