Biomedical Physiology Society receives award

The Biomedical Physiology Society was recently honored with the Spring Engagement Fair Outstanding Organization Award in recognition of its creativity, innovation, and exceptional attendee engagement at the University of Georgia’s 2025 Spring Engagement Fair. Presented by Engagement Leadership and Services, the award highlights the society’s growing impact and commitment to student involvement.

Now in only its second year as a registered student organization, the Biomedical Physiology Society has quickly distinguished itself through meaningful programming and service. The society has established a mentorship program connecting upper- and underclassmen, hosted monthly events to foster community within the department, volunteered with several local charities, and partnered with Kaplan Test Prep to provide members with free and discounted preparatory resources for pre-professional school exams. This academic year alone, the organization hosted a tour of the medical partnership with the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, volunteered at the North Georgia Food Bank, organized an Application Night featuring mentor-mentee application reviews, and coordinated a finals study hall with departmental faculty on hand to support students.

Through these efforts, the Biomedical Physiology Society continues to build a strong sense of community and promote academic excellence among Biomedical Physiology majors and minors, as well as other students with shared interests. Learn more about this UGA student led organization here.
