CVM professor recognized by ACVP

Dr. Corrie Brown, Josiah Meigs and University Professor of pathology, was recognized earlier this month as a Distinguished Member by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) at its 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting.

Per the ACVP, “Distinguished Members are ACVP Diplomates who have rendered exceptionally distinguished service to the College or who have contributed in an exemplary manner to veterinary pathology. They are nominated by a group of members and selected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.”

Dr. Brown is a well-loved member of the faculty and has guided numerous students and visiting scientists through her research program. She is the author or co-author of 170 publications, six books, and 23 book chapters, and she is active in international outreach projects across the globe.

Dr. Brown has been honored previously as a University Professor and Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor of Pathology. She has been the recipient of numerous awards from the College, the AVMA, and other units of the university.

Dr. Brown received her DVM from the University of Guelph and PhD from the University of California, Davis.
