Judge Tracie (AB ’93) and David (AB ’00) Cason are proud owners and dog parents of Erskine “Erk” Russell (a full-size black and tan dachshund) and Emma Mae (chocolate lab). They also were the proud owners and dog parents of the late Munson (red dachshund) and Dooley (piebald dachshund), both who lived to the great age of 17.
Tracie and David are both native Georgians who feel equally fortunate to have benefitted from UGA educations and degrees. Tracie is honored to currently serve on the Gwinnett County Superior Court bench, and David has a general trial practice serving the Northern Metro Atlanta area. They are proud clients of the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital as they have visited many times over the years with their beloved dogs.
The Casons share, “Veterinary education is tantamount to our continuing success in Georgia. The vet school ensures the health and productivity of animals ranging from beef and dairy cattle to cats, thereby ensuring the financial well-being and happiness of many, many Georgians. Georgia would simply not be the same without the help, care, and assistance of our alma mater’s College of Veterinary Medicine and its surgical capacities.”
David and Tracie are faithful supporters of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. They are proud Dawgs and grateful for the opportunity to support the college through both annual support and planned gifts. They share, “The UGA vet school is undoubtedly responsible for prolonging and enhancing the life and health of our Dawgs. Whether ensuring the spinal integrity of our dachshunds or replacing Emma Mae’s degenerating hips, the vet school has always provided for our Dawgs’ best interests and health. Our support of the vet school is the least we can do in exchange for all it has done for us and our Dawgs. Our humble donations are the least we can provide to a university that has done so much for us. In Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation and Go Dawgs!”
