UGA-DLABS awarded full accreditation from the AAVLD

By Staff

We are very pleased to inform our clients that the Georgia Veterinary Diagnostic Labs in Athens (AVDL) and Tifton (TVDIL) have received full accreditation for all animal species from the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians Inc. (AAVLD). Our full accreditation status, valid until December 31, 2022, was granted following on-site audits at both labs by a team of AAVLD auditors in December 2017. The AAVLD accreditation process involves a rigorous assessment of all laboratory disciplines and the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure managerial and technical competence in conducting the diagnostic tests we offer.

Full accreditation certifies that the D-Labs have implemented a robust QMS. It is one of the criteria used by the USDA to determine membership in the National Animal Health Laboratory Network..  AAVLD accreditation, which is recognized internationally,  also allows the D-Labs to participate in national and international programs for foreign animal disease detection, emerging disease surveillance, and export testing.

We are proud of this recognition from AAVLD and look forward to continue providing our clients with the high level of quality testing you have come to expect from us.
