The areas of research focus for graduate students in CBS are exceptionally diverse, including translational medicine, vector-borne diseases, epidemiology and disease ecology, viral pathogenesis, neurodegenerative diseases, vaccine development, science education, and bioinformatics, and more.
The program of study for CBS includes at least 30 credit hours of graduate-level courses (excluding research credit hours). Only a few specific courses are required by the program. The remaining courses are selected by the student, major professor, and advisory committee to best align with the student’s research area, interests, and career goals.
Faculty mentors in CBS must be graduate faculty in the College of Veterinary Medicine, but can be affiliated with any one of the following departments and centers:
